Huacaya alpaca produces soft, crimped fleece ideal for cozy knitwear, while Suri alpaca yields silkier, lustrous locks prized for drape and shine. Alpaca farming is also considered gentler on land than many livestock fibers, requiring less water and grazing land per animal.
